Oak and Emerald Resin Kitchen Island
They took the kitchen design and quickly created a piece that fitted what the customer wanted – which was a 3 metre by 1.2 metre worktop for their island, with a sink installed. Once they saw the design, the customer signed off within minutes and we were away.
Due to the sizing required, we created a custom mould and sourced some outstanding oak slabs – giving the customer a choice of several so they could get a feel of the grains and materials to ensure the finished product matched the aesthetics that they sought.
Upon arrival, we immediately sanded and prepped the oak ready for the pour – and this critical part featured over 75 litres of this beautiful emerald green. The dynamics of the pour produced an outstanding design feature which flowed with the piece, with lighter and darker pigments forming the river and any filling needed on the oak materials.
Several rounds of flattening, oiling and TLC followed, before we packed up the 256kg island and heading to deliver to the customer, who was thrilled with the finished product.
